A unique personality for us to get to know, and after almost 2 months, she’s told us SO much about herself as we try and get her ready to sail off into the horizon. One of the things she has informed us about is that her rigging needs replaced. Actually she showed us a cracked fitting, and Steve our friend the rigger told us the bad news, but we thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to head his advice. So a couple weeks ago we made the investment, ordered the materials and pressed on with life as usual. Which mean’t more work. This sailing life makes you work for it, and sometimes there can seem to be a never-ending list of things to do before reaping the benefits of cruising. You have to try and find presence in every moment and that means sometimes stealing your love away from her computer and work, and doing something fun in the moment, celebrating the small victories.
