Welcome to Sailing Sweet Ruca Tech Talks, where we give you real-world, on boat information as we sail. Today, we dive in-depth into a full service to our Watermaker and show you how to do it as well. Follow along as we do it yourself (DIY). First we change the oil in the pump. Next we replace the membrane. Then we replace the sediment filter. Lastly we fire it up and test its output. The model of watermaker is a Village Marine/Parker LWM 160-200 Modular. It makes 6-7.5 gallons of water per hour, or about 150 gallons per day. While doing this it uses about 15 amps of 12V DC power. So, we can run our watermaker from our solar, wind, or battery power. The steps performed in this video will be applicable to many different water makers. Each watermaker has the same core components, but some differ just a bit in technology and electrical requirements. We make make another water maker video later comparing the different types, explaining why we chose ours, and what we wish for. Here is a little more information about our watermaker: The Little Wonder (LWM) is the watermaker of choice for the experienced sailor. The LWM comes equipped with a corrosion resistant, single piston, belt driven, low RPM high-pressure pump. Result is the most reliable, field serviceable, quiet, efficient and economical source of fresh water available in completely modular configurations with water output ranging from 145 to 180 GPD. The LWM watermakers are designed for cruising sail boats where space is limited and reliability is required. Thanks for watching. We hope we helped you! Please like and subscribe.
