Strong Headwinds Change the Plan: From Enkhuizen to the Marker Wadden - Ep. 29 [EN]

🌊 Join me, Jacqueline Evers, on my epic journey around the world aboard my 27-foot Grinde, Loveworkx. In this video, I look back at Episode 29 in the early preparations for my solo circumnavigation. We didn’t make it to Stavoren last night—but after 11 hours sailing upwind, Enkhuizen was enough. We slept well and woke up rested, but with even stronger headwinds ahead. With 25–30 knots of wind, sailing toward Den Helder and out onto the North Sea toward IJmuiden no longer felt wise. So we changed the plan and turned this into a different kind of weekend adventure. Instead, we head for the Marker Wadden, a unique new nature reserve in the Netherlands. To get there, we pass through the Naviduct in Enkhuizen—one of only two naviducts in the world, where cars pass under the water while boats sail above. Sometimes seamanship means knowing when to let go of the original plan. 💙 Love my videos?
