Shredded Sail and a Stalking Shark 71 | Beau and Brandy Sailing Finally! We're off to Ile la Vache. We avoided a few crab pots on the way out of the bay. But it was a very slow sail out, but once we rounded the corner the wind picked up. We We're cruising at 6-7 knots. I put a reef in the main just as the sun was setting. Then... we hit a nasty squall. With it came rain, lightning, and about 35 knots of swirling wind. Unfortunately, our mainsail couldn't take it and ripped from leech to luff. Thankfully we still had our backup mainsail that Dan and Kika, Sailing Uma, gave us. Once we swapped them out, we were off again. But the wind didn't want to cooperate as it died on us. But we're glad it did because we got to see the coolest thing. A baby Oceanic White Tip Shark decided to check out Saoirse and see what we were up to. We had a beautiful sunset.
