This episode was filmed in 12 / 2020. — Welcome to Untie The Lines! my name is Nike, I bought an aluminum 37 foot sailboat in Panama in 2013 that I named KARL. I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, Paul and I leave our own sailboats behind and hop onto Maria’s boat Joana to sail to Vista Mar marina on the Panamanian mainland. The voyage from the Las Perlas islands is about 60nm and we enjoy a beautiful sail on the 72 foot gaff rugged steel yawl Joana. The reason for all of this is to pick up a food order that was supposed to be delivered by a ferry to our sailboats but got denied. We actually also wanted to pick up a shipment from the states at the same time, but because the cargo ship was delayed, we headed over to the anchorage in Punta Chame to wait for its arrival.
