Sailing Adventure from Baltasound to Lerwick via Burravoe and Boatsroom Voe. *Read on for full information and useful links....* 😁⬇⬇⬇⬇ We navigate the picturesque waters of Shetland, venturing from the port of Baltasound to the vibrant town of Lerwick. Along the way, we immerse ourselves in the region's breathtaking landscapes. Our first stop is the village of Burravoe, nestled amidst dramatic lanscape that surround the sheltered waters. We drop anchor for the night, allowing us to soak in the ambiance and appreciate the rugged beauty of this coastal haven. The following day we have a short motor across the sound to seek shelter from the coming winds. Dinghy at the ready, we venture ashore at Boatsroom Voe, a sheltered anchorage that once played a pivotal role in World War II. From here, we embark on a historical walk to the point where the Shetland Bus, a daring resistance operation, departed during the war years. We spend a couple of nights in Boatsroom Voe, a sheltered anchorage that offers a respite from the open sea. Here, we enjoy the peace and quiet, surrounded by the natural beauty of Shetland. Our journey culminates in the bustling town of Lerwick, the capital of Shetland. We dock at the harbour, eager to explore the town's rich history, vibrant culture, and charming attractions. Our time in Lerwick provides an opportunity to restock our provisions and indulge in the town's culinary offerings.
