After spending time around Mackay, we finally leave the marina and set our sights further north, excited to get back into true cruising life — quiet anchorages, open water passages, and untouched coastline. As we travel, the ocean puts on a show for us with constant wildlife encounters… managing the strong winds that reminding us just how alive these waters really are. Our journey takes us into The Inlet, a place we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. It’s remote, peaceful, and full of promise. After a stretch of patience and plenty of time on the water, we finally get rewarded where it counts — landing some much-overdue fish! A simple moment, but one that feels like a big win after the wait. From there, we continue pushing north as the coastline opens up and the scenery starts to shift, leading us closer to one of Australia’s most iconic cruising destinations — the Whitsundays. This episode is all about movement, patience, wildlife, and those small wins that make life at sea so rewarding.
