Rebecca Childress and Michael Hayward sail away from Ascension Island with their relationship on the rocks...with 3100 miles to sail on Rebecca's 1976 Valiant 40 sailboat "Brick House'. Sailing this stretch will bring Rebecca closer to completing her 15 year circumnavigation. This will be bother hers and Michaels longest ocean passage to date In all the years sailing. Rebecca made the decision to continue to sail around the world after her husband and captain Patrick Childress passed away from Covid 19 last year. Michael Hayward, a wonderful intrepid captain that she met on the dock at the Royal Cape Yacht Club gave up his life in beautiful Cape Town South Africa to join Rebecca in her final miles of her circumnavigation of the world. . After nearly 6000 miles, and 4 countries, Michael leaves the boat in Grenada ending their very difficult 1+ year long love affair on the Atlantic Ocean, to live the sailing life, and all of the relationship challenges one can imagine, out their Sailing the Atlantic Ocean In a small sailboat.
