After driving five and a half hours from Hout Bay to George to collect our decision in person, we got news we weren't expecting — and had to figure out how to pivot fast. We turned a stressful day into an opportunity, joining a half marathon and 10K we'd signed up for on a whim (Kris and Bella tackling the 21km, Finn and Shona the 10km, Archie and Pippi in the kids' race). Back in Hout Bay, we regrouped, tried to lodge our appeal at VFS in Cape Town, and then let this incredible city remind us why we've fought so hard to stay — culminating in a hike up Table Mountain with friends, taking in one of the most spectacular views of our entire circumnavigation.
