Its time to change our fuel filters aboard SV Lost Cat! We have 2 diesel engines on or 43' sailing catamaran and I change out our fuel filters every 2 fill-ups, or every 250 hours. That equates to about 125 gallons of fuel that has run through each filter - and it shows. Not only do I change out the filter element, I clean the collection bowls. Organisms actually grow in diesel fuel(!) and builds up sludge in your fuel tanks. Along with sludge, water can build up through condensation and this is also filtered out in the Racor turbine fuel filter. You can buy a pack of 12 on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/3ks0BI6 In this video I show how to change out the filter element, clean the bowls, and give tricks on how to avoid air in your fuel system ( that's bad). In no way am I a professional mechanic and I am sure there are other techniques, but this is how I do my filter changes. All hints and tricks are appreciated so everyone can get the most from this video. Thanks for watching, Captain James Cognito SV Lost Cat
