Machining Parts ~ making a fitting for the deck of my boat [part one]

Many boats have wash down hoses, normally the fitting is some garden hose type thread with a pretty brittle hose. On my boat I have a very large wash down pump from #hamiltonmarine. The "ID" of the pump and hose is 1.59". In this video I machine a fitting that will fit the large wash down hose and reduce it to something more manageable above deck, in this case 1". I have never attempted to make a barbed fitting before, and after a ton of struggling and some yelling I figured it out. In the next video I will weld this fitting to a plate which will eventually be fastened to the deck of the boat.
