Launch Updates—Sign up! http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Join us on Patreon, get us to launch day: https://www.patreon.com/acorntoarabella Launch is in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts at Shipyard Park on June 17, 2023 at 10 a.m. There will also be festivities on June 18. We will be attending The WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport Museum the following weekend. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter so you don't miss any details. Electronic gear nerds and woodworking fans rejoice! This week, we get back inside the boat for a look at how Steve puts together one of the most personalized parts of a sailboat: the navigation table and nav station. GPS units from Garmin, VHF radios, breaker panels, 12 volt plugs, Garmin radar, GMI 20, and more. We're accepting of the fact that our setup for the navigation station will never be in its final draft for lots of reasons. Lightning strikes, changing technology, changing needs and cruising style... any of these things would mean that we'd need to rethink and change it, and we've always been happy to contemplate (and excited by some of!) the future changes that may come. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a wooden boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve started as an amateur wooden boat builder building a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that classic wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY boatbuilding project will continue well past launch, when he and the crew will travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat Referral: Please consider using our Total Boat referral code—they send us 10% of your purchase to support our videos!
