Initial Test Flight of Drone

As a guy who loves taking pictures and video, I was thrilled when I started to see drones coming down in prices over the last few years. It used to be you couldn't touch a drone for a decent camera for under $6K for a crappy one. Technology has continued to advance with smaller camera's capable of really great shots and flight control systems using GPS, Altimiters, a Compas and automatic "return to home" capabilities when there is a signal loss between the operator and the drone. Now, they are near affordable and we had to take a few shots to start to get a unique perspective for our photos, videos and blog entries. This was my first attempt at ever flying anything and certainly there is still work to be done in the smoothness of movements, BUT, I am really happy with the way this is working. As I test the "return to home" features a little bit more I will get more comfortable flying it to its near half mile signal limits.
