Hanging, impeller replacement, and anchoring on a Catalina 42 Ep 7

We wanted to goof off but duty calls. Went out for a nice sailing day; on the way back, the engine started to overheat. When the alarm went off, we decided to hobble the rest of the way to the slip. Good thing we had a bit of a tail wind to help between intermittent starting and stopping of the engine. Since there was no water in the muffler, Steve diagnosed the issue as a worn-out impeller. Fortunately, we had a spare Yanmar part. The next goal was to find out how in the heck to access the housing for the impeller. After locating a rectangular hatch on the engine compartment giving impeller housing visibility, removing 4 10mm bolts, pulling out the wrecked impeller and loose vanes, was able to put the new part in. A little soap on the vanes made it a easier to secure the new impeller, replaced the seawater pump housing plate, and was good to go. Tested out the repairs the next day and Cakewalk was ready to go again. Unfortunately, the winds were not. There was little to no air. We found a nice little cove, and with our new anchor light we decided to spend the night. Wonderful evening in the 60's.
