Within this remote island cluster off the coast of Africa known as the Seychelles, grows a mystical endemic fruit that for centuries has been treated like gold. Today, the fruit or nut known as Coco De Mer is endangered and highly regulated by the government. But still, things like habitat destruction, forest fires, and illegal harvesting pose a threat to this precious fruit. My crew and I are soon to set sail to South Africa, but before we leave we wanted to learn more about Coco De Mer.
