Moving Our Digital Compass – Finding a Better Spot Away from Metal Interference! 🧭

We’re relocating our digital compass from behind the saloon to the front cabin. Right now it’s too vulnerable to magnetic interference from all the metal things we want to store in the saloon, which means we can’t use that storage the way we’d like. In this video I’ll show you: How I use a magnimeter to hunt for a good new location How the compass calibrates to measure the local magnetic field and compensate for interference We won’t know for sure how well the new spot works until we leave port and do a proper sea recalibration!
