Ep 169 | Gathering and Desiccating Coconuts on a Tropical Island Paradise, New Caledonia

We leave the tranquil anchorage in the Bay of Prony and make our way back to the island, Ile Ouen. We head ashore and check out the beautiful beach with its abundance of natural wonders and spot small schools of blue bone fish swimming in the shallow, coral filled waters. Magnus collects and husks a few coconuts, including a young embryo one which we both try for the first time. A little game of beach cricket, because we can, and we then head back to Nutshell to process the coconuts into desiccated coconut and coconut milk. It’s then a short sail back to Noumea to get ready to check out and head back to Australia, but not before we try a beer at the local restaurant.
