Day 16 on the returning crossing across the Atlantic Ocean

Day 16. The wind is not being forgiving today. We’ve been spending most of the time inside, getting thrown around, and I’m honestly a bit tired of being glued to this couch. 30 knots, straight upwind. Up the waves, into the waves… just constant bashing. At some point I realized we were heading too far north, so I decided to slow things down. No point in rushing something that doesn’t need to be rushed. Reefed the sails, and now is calmer. Much more controlled. Still rough, but manageable. And even with the waves hitting hard… I feel safe. Really safe. Which is kind of the most important part. Because if this is what it feels like now, it gives me a lot of confidence for what’s coming next. The GGR won’t be forgiving. But at least I know this boat can take care of me.
