Crossing the Wide Bay bar to K'gari (Fraser Is) as liveaboards (Ep.12) | Sailing ARGO

With our new batteries sorted and the weather coming good, we left Mooloolaba and got the sails out towards Double Island Point, preparing ourselves to cross the Wide Bay Bar. Considered one of the five most dangerous bars to cross in Queensland, and faced with 3m swells, we ponied up and took the very rolly, wave-breaky, trek across. Then cracked on with winding our way up the Great Sandy Straits and into Hervey Bay.
