Crossing the Kiel Canal in Our New Sailboat Entering The Rough North Sea Sailing to Helgoland

In this episode we take our new sailboat (Bavaria 37 from 2000) on its first big test as we cross the Kiel Canal, the famous shortcut that connects the Baltic Sea to the North Sea 🛳️🚢 You’ll see us navigating through crowded locks, surrounded by massive cargo ships and hectic sailboats, while giving our engine a big test. The Kiel Canal transit is around 60 nautical miles nautical miles, and once we reach the rough North Sea, we quickly realize how different it is to sail with tides and currents.
