East Down Yacht club turned on a beautiful late summer day for the annual trip down the coast to Ardglass. The redline racing team on J109 GTR were joined by around 20 other boats to tackle the race out of Strangford Lough and down the coast to the fishing village of Ardglass. With sun shinning and the breeze building to around 10 to 15 knots it was going to be a bumpy passage over the strangford lough bar with wind and tide running in opposite directions. Condition at the bar mouth were about as bumpy as I have seen them, the J109 Going to Red powered through the waves which were at times breaking over the bow of the boat. With the crew on the rail keeping us flat and big Jack powering the main we lead the fleet out of the narrows and never looked back. The J109 yacht showed what a solid offshore racer she is as she powered through short and sharp and often confused seaway that made for a memorable race out of the Strangford Lough Narrows. The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you enjoy the short clip from our 2024 season if you want to watch the full race review follow the link below for all the action. https://youtu.be/gqGjquF75pA The sweet sounds were provided - Infraction - No Copyright Music Sport Rock Racing by Infraction [No Copyright Music] / Ready Or Not https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4_mYL5GGwg
