Captain and Canine: Facing Engine Woes & Endless Sailboat Repairs

We are finally back in Puerto Rico and its time to get down with some boat projects! In this video Fiona and I tackle some big projects like the motor, dinghy davits, and the never ending battle against the sun with some portlight gasket repairs. Although this boat sailed back with no problems we were very lucky to not have any! Being an engineering means I want to know exactly how every system works and reinforce the boats systems as much as I can for less problems in the future. I have booked a month on a dock so its time to get to work while unlimited power is easy, the davits are overhead and I'm tied up for a bit so wont be needing the motor! The only sad part about buying a German boat is that all of the shore power systems are wired for 220V and I have nothing of the sort nor do the docks! So eventually it would be beautiful to install a second US outlet on board and pair it with a Victron smart inverter charger to keep this boat powered!
