45 Days Stuck At Anchor| Hiding From The Monsoon | S05E02
After spending the monsoon in Krabi, Thailand, living at anchor on our 42-foot sailboat, SV Reeva, we are finally preparing to check out and head back out to sea. But what do you actually do when you're living on a sailboat and the monsoon keeps you anchored in one place for over a month? For us, it meant slowing down. For 45 days, we lived at anchor in the sheltered waters of the Krabi River, which provided a safe harbour during some of the worst monsoon weather. Surrounded by mangroves, quiet waters and spectacular scenery, there was no great adventure every dayâand that's exactly what makes full-time sailboat life interesting. There were trips to the market, boat jobs and maintenance, remote work, meals, lazy afternoons and plenty of time simply doing nothing. And of course, when three people live together on a 42-foot sailboat, there's always room for a few pranks, arguments, laughs and plenty of general nonsense! đ As the season slowly shifted, it was eventually time for our sailing family to move on. In this episode of The Reeva Project â Season 5 Episode 02, we take you through 45 days of life at anchor in Krabi, the process of checking out of Thailand and preparing SV Reeva for the next leg of our journey. This time, we are also joined by a new crew member as we leave the safety of the river and head back out into the blue. A quieter sailing vlog about the everyday reality of living on a sailboat full-time, life at anchor, family sailing and the liveaboard lifestyleâwith a little bit of chaos thrown in.
