108 MAKE MY DAY - Midsummer

We are saying goodbye to a Belgium family who were here in PS for 8 months. It’s a sad day. As it will become from now on a bit quieter in our harbor. It’s summer solstice. This is one of the biggest holidays in Sweden. There’s a Swedish couple Johan en Lena from a boat called Sea Pearl that is lying on a mooring. We were invited to celebrate Midsummer with them. European Championship Soccer. We normally don’t like to watch soccer, but this is a lot of fun watching together with other nationalities. The Dutch in the bar are dressed in Orange. Isabelle and Miguel from Poncha do Pescador are back in town so it’s poncha time! It’s the festival Soa Jao. Every night there is live music. On The last night of the festival there is a parade from the 4 towns/ areas here in Porto Santo. On the last evening at midnight the 16 minute long firework display finishes off this wonderful event.
