Wir besuchen den örtlichen Gendarmen aus Frankreich, um ordnungsgemäß einzuklarieren. Am örtlichen ATM füllen wir unsere Bargeldbestände auf. Der ATM in den Gambier-Inseln soll öfter mal nicht bestückt zu sein. Am Sonntag gehen wir erneut zum Gottesdienst. Uns begeistert vor allem der Gesang und die Zwanglosigkeit der Gemeinde. Wie in anderen Ländern bleiben jedoch viele Bänke leer. Nach einer Stunde verlassen wir allerdings den Gottesdienst – das dauert uns einfach zu lang. Stunden später kommen wir noch einmal an der Kirche vorbei. Es findet gerade ein Jugendgottesdienst statt. Das Engagement der Gemeinde sowie des örtlichen Pfarrers ist enorm. Unser Interesse gilt vor allem den Magasin - den Supermärkten. Die beste Auswahl hat JoJo`s und wir stocken unsere Bestände kräftig auf. Ab 10.000 XPF wird kostenlos ans Boot geliefert. Kein Problem für uns, denn die Preise sind so absurd, dass wir ungewollt in ganz anderen Größenordnungen unterwegs sind. Das Versorgungsschiff Nukuhau legt lang ersehnt in Otepa an. Emsig werden alle möglichen Versorgungsgüter entladen. Container, Baumaterialien, Treibstoff und, was uns besonders interessiert, Lebensmittel. Plötzlich sind die Gänge im JoJo`s vollgestopft mit gerade eingetroffenen Lebensmitteln. Frische Dinge, wie Früchte und Gemüse, gibt es allerdings weiterhin nicht. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Today we finally leveled the aluminum sailboat! ⚓️ We used a laser level to make sure everything is perfectly aligned before starting the welding — a big step toward making this dream boat real! So, we created "Odd Life Crafting", a project composed of many smaller projects that we call seasons. The first one was the creation of Odd Life Crafting. The idea was to build a metal boat to be able to travel the world taking our house with us, but we didn't have money for that. So, we started the next season: we built a tiny shipping container house with no prior experience in building to gain some skills to build a boat. When we were almost finished we found a boat that was neglected for over 22 years and we spent 2 years refitting her (Season 3). On the season 4 we sailed for 2 years (exploring the Brazilian coast and part of the Caribbean), we sold our boat and we moved to Europe. The last season we are starting to build a new aluminum 43ft sailboat and a new life. We hope to inspire others to follow their dreams.
