This week we follow Ryan on one of his final marine projects — a custom-built fishing module for a Rodman 31. The brief was simple: create a practical, durable solution for serious fishing. The result is a bespoke unit incorporating a live well, sink with running water, and dedicated tackle storage — all designed to fit neatly within the boat’s existing layout, replacing a clever C-shaped settee that lifts clear of the outboards. We join the build from start to finish, from workshop fabrication through to final installation at Birdham Pool, with a look around the boatyard and some of the other projects Ryan has been involved in. Partiti alle 17:00 del 4 ottobre con vento leggerissimo diretti verso la Capraia per riduzione di percorso, passiamo ai margini di un temporale con pioggia e onda prima dell’arrivo alla boa di Capraia. Nel tratto Capraia-Scoglietto si procede spediti tanto da recuperare un po’ di margine al gruppo di testa ma il passaggio allo Scoglietto, con poco vento e indeciso come direzione, ci ha resi ultimi e lasciati in balia della corrente per assenza di vento. Entrato il maestrale nel primo pomeriggio riprendiamo la corsa verso la boa di arrivo, con frequenti virate per salti di vento: maestrale e tramontana, poi tramontana e grecale ed infine un costante levante che ci portati sino in boa alle 00:53 del 6 ottobre. Classificati al terzo posto nella Perle x 2
