We’re setting sail from the remote outpost town of Gove, in the far reaches of Northern Australia, for one of our 350 nautical mile passage across the Gulf of Carpentaria! We’ve been awaiting this weather window to head against the trade winds - and that time has finally come. From Gove to the Torres Strait — it’s time to go! Along the way, we’re rigging up new fishing lures, hoping for a big catch after something absolutely hammered our last one. Charlie is on deck helping build a new lure setup with some flashy skirts, and we can’t wait to see what bites in these fish-filled northern waters. So grab a coffee or a beer, settle in, and join us as we cross the Gulf of Carpentaria — one of the most remote and beautiful parts of Australia. The excitement of returning back to our sailboat is short lived as we stumble onto a disaster. Talk about a fun filled summer and fall. Between getting married after being together for 14 years and visiting family our time in Canada flew by. But now it is time to get back to the boat after hurricane Milton. We pack up both kids, maple syrup and too much stuff into our rental car and drive down to Florida. Filmed Fall 2024. If you like what you see don't forget to give us the thumbs up! #sailing #sailingfamily #cclandfallsailboat ***************************************** SUPPORT OUR VIDEOS ON PATREON https://www.patreon.com/WildlyIntrepid MAKE A ONE TIME CONTRIBUTION https://www.paypal.me/wildlyintrepid WILDLY INTREPID MERCH https://teespring.com/en-GB/stores/wildly-intrepid HELP us get what we NEED Amazon Wish List https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/2GTH6AGVPH4LP?ref_=wl_share ***************************************** Subscribe to Join our Intrepid Tribe! https://www.youtube.com/c/WildlyIntrepid?sub_confirmation=1 ***************************************** FOR UPDATES https://www.facebook.com/wildlyintrepid/ https://www.instagram.com/wildlyintrepid/ ***************************************** Defender Marine It's a great place to get your marine supplies from plus we get a small kickback when you buy through our affiliate link. defender.pxf.io/xL9D9v Here is a link to purchase SOK batteries and help out the channel at the same time without costing you anything extra. https://www.us.sokbattery.com/?ref=zS7whJNCsEGFPu BougeRV FOR 32% OFF ON all ED series and CRD series fridge and battery CODE: Wildly Or use link:https://bit.ly/3ZYruez UNOWIX batteries use the Promo Code UNOWIX10 for an extra 10% discount. Motor sailing to windward with 2 reefs in the mainsail. We are trying to get back to the mooring before it gets too dark, so the motor is adding a few extra knots to our speed. The boat is doing around 10 knots in 20 to 30 knots of wind with double reef..

On avance ensemble #oualaouti #vieenbateau #voile #changementdevie #famille

Sailing the Aeolians…..on Steroids #Sailing Adventures with Grandad In this episode I share a fun week going from one volcanic Aeolian Island to another in the beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea. Our sail this 2020 summer to 5 of the 7 Aeolian Islands with my daughter Alexandra her two good friends… Rebecca and Rosa. What a fun week sharing the beautiful passages, balmy summer days, good food and the always welcome refreshing swims in magnificently clear and cool water of the Tyrrhenian. Vivacious and beautiful Rebecca came aboard to celebrate with Alexandra part of her own summer vacation. You can learn about her professional cooking and life as “The Bad Jew” chef in Los Angeles in these two great interviews: This Voyage LA Interview: http://voyagela.com/interview/meet-rebecca-king-bad-jew-east-hollywood/ The interview with Kevin of Kevins BBQ joints https://youtu.be/oYrdAi6VQTw This Channel , SAILING ADVENTURES WITH GRANDAD , is about my travel adventure by sail on Vayu my 44 ft sloop. The people I meet and travel with, the places we go, the times we have and life. Currently we are in the Eastern Mediterranean after leaving Palma de Mallorca 4 months ago. We are now leaving the Aeolian Islands on our way South through the straights of Messina down the east coast of Sicily and on to Ragusa on the South Coast of Sicily. I am Michael, 73 year old grandad of the channel, a lifetime sailor, practicing yogi, father of 4, grandad of 5, amateur chef, and contented bachelor and good friend. I live in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. My beautiful and seaworthy sailboat Vayu, a 44 ft X-Yacht (X-442), born in Denmark in 2002. This journey is a celebration of life and dedicated to taking one day at a time, living life spontaneously and gratefully as long as one can. I fully appreciate my good fortune and create these videos to share this really fun life journey with friends, family and all who care to join us. This channel was launched at the beginning of the Ukrainian invasion and I make monthly contributions to Save the Children-Ukraine, in the hope that millions of us contributing can help ease the suffering of the many displaced Ukrainian families.
Preview of upcoming interview with son of Bill Cook, co-inventor and maker of the legendary Jet Squid lure. This lure from the 1950s is highly sought after by collectors of vintage lures. This interview takes place at Briar Cooks house, the same house that he lives in today where the lure was first created in 1949. Briar Cook now 88 shares the stories of the EB Norris Jet Squid. His father Bill Cook was EB Norris partner when the lures were invented, perfected and sold in the 1950s
