We have had many sailors ask us about our COB prevention method on Voyageur 10.10. It is quite difficult to describe accurately so me made this video. We did it at the dock because of the difficulty to film it properly while underway. The most important design feature of our system is that you cannot go overboard and impact the water even if you tried. Many people head out on their boats with a false sense of security. Their jackline/tether system will keep them attached to the boat, however will let them go overboard. Being dragged through the water next to a jostling boat, even a slow speed, will lead to your drowning very quickly. You will wish that you weren't attached, and desperately try to release yourself, defeating the whole purpose of wearing the tether. It takes some time and effort to come up with a system that works, but it may save your life one day, as our system has saved mine.

Conclusion after the Orca attack on our boat. We look at the damage on the boat. What repairs had to be done? What did the insurance company say, and do we look at this as a disaster? The boat is a Nauticat 38 motorsailer, and we have done a lot of boat restoration and boat repair recently. This is to be ready for the sailing lifestyle and the boat life in the Mediterranean. As some of you already know, our boat was attacked by an Iberian Orca just outside Spain and Gibraltar. In this video we sum up the conclusions after the Orca encounter. Some of the boats have sunk as well. The sailing community is waiting for a solution, but since Iberian Orcas are protected, it is not easy to find a solution. L'Océanis 36 CC est entièrement ceinturé d’un pavois en teck massif, pour assurer le confort et la sécurité de tous. A l’arrière, 3 coffres de pont vous permettent de ranger haussières, défenses et, bien entendu, les bouteilles de gaz de la cuisine. Sur l’avant, le guindeau est de série, et posé sur le pont pour faciliter les manoeuvres. Le coffre moteur, situé sous le cockpit, parfaitement isolé, permet un accès facile à tous les éléments mécaniques. Côté manoeuvres, la surface de voile est généreuse pour assurer d’excellentes performances. Par temps calme, le puissant moteur diesel (jusqu'à 40cv) vous permettra d’atteindre à temps l’escale de votre choix.
