This Beneteau Oceanis 46.1, AZKENEAN, is a perfect example of a yacht that successfully combines the comfort of a family cruiser with the performance of a true sailing yacht. Equipped with a taller mast, she benefits from an increased sail area, while her deep keel and twin rudders provide excellent balance and control under sail. AZKENEAN has been upgraded for enhanced sailing performance. She features a taller Selden mast installed in 2023, replacing the original shorter mast, together with renewed standing and running rigging from the same year. Her sail wardrobe includes an Elvström mainsail and genoa from 2023, a self-tacking staysail, and a Code D. In this video, I take on my first ever splicing project after new marina rules meant I had to rethink how I secure Dream to the pontoon. The marina's newly installed pontoons no longer allow metal springs to be attached directly, so I came up with a simple solution using spliced rope strops, stainless steel thimbles and my existing mooring springs. I explain why I made the change, show you the finished installation, and share what I learnt from tackling a skill I'd never attempted before. Huge progress. We have changed everything to improve anchoring. We have a much bigger and better anchor (30kg SPADE) plus 80m of 10mm chain. So we have created a larger chain locker that is 2m further aft and below the waterline. Now we have had to sort out the chute to automatically get the chain to stack in the new locker. We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. This is a great value pontoon to get you out on the water! This is a 1 owner boat since new and has always been serviced by our shop here at Shuswap Marina. The 90hp EFI is a 4 stroke, runs well, and has no issues in need of service. Overall condition of the boat is good, although the vinyl seats have a few areas of sunbake on the tops of the backrests, but the deats themselves are all in great condition. The bimini is a nice size and there is a full mooring cover that was replaced a few years ago that is in good condition. The carpet floor shows very well.
