Daí tomei a decisão de passar a temporada de furacão abrigado na Nova Zelândia. Ao final da temporada, atravessando o Mar da Tasmânia o pesadelo de todo velejador aconteceu. Uma tempestade gigantesca nos atingiu e o barco capotou. Foram 48 horas lutando para sobreviver, com ventos que ultrapassavam 100 km/h. Foi o pior momento de toda a viagem! Durante a tempestade, só pensei em sobreviver e quando passou, o medo tomou conta de mim e depois de mais de 25 anos sonhando com a ideia de dar uma volta ao mundo, pensei seriamente em desistir.
