In the last few years in South Africa during the Pandemic, we never thought that we would go back to Patagonia, go back to Ithaca's anchorage. Now, we named it Caleta ITHACA. The anchorage is protected with two small islets guarding outside, and another arm in the south direction, it can be an alternative anchorage in case of strong south wind, which is near the salmon farm. As we anchored here for the second time, we walked through the bush belt to explore the area. The view on the top is amazing and it is definitely a place that is worth stopping by. Since It was not marked in the navigation book, so there is no book reference number, and we are very proud of finding the place and introducing it to other sailors. #ithacacruising #patagoniachile #sailaroundtheworld #sailboat

Une deuxième saison s'achève ! Elle a été très différente de la première ! Un ouragan, une baisse de moral puis de nouveau l'envie de naviguer au milieu de ces îles incroyables à la rencontre des habitants qui ont bien soufferts cette année. On a fait de belles navigations du sud de la Martinique au sud de Grenade échappant à l'infernal Beryl ! Au retour, ce fut la découverte de l'après Béryl sur ces îles paradisiaques ! Les paysages sont méconnaissables à certains endroit ! Les habitants ont soufferts mais vont reconstruire pour recommencer une vie normale après avoir tout perdu ! Ces gens sont incroyables et méritent notre plus grand respect !  Un immense merci à tous ceux que nous avons trouvés cette année sur notre chemin de nomade, comme nous ou habitants des iles qui nous montrent à quel point leur résilience est énorme ! A hurricane, a drop in the motivation, then again the desire to sail through the middle of those incredible islands to meet the inhabitants who suffered greatly on July 1st. We had some great sailing from the south of Martinique to the south of Grenada, escaping the infernal Beryl! On the way back, it was the discovery of post-Beryl on these paradise islands! The landscapes are unrecognizable in some places! The residents suffered but will rebuild to restart a normal life after losing everything! Those people are incredible and deserve our respect!  A huge thank you to everyone we found this year on our nomadic journey, like us or island residents who show us how enormous their resilience is! Our night sail to Calais, France was cold but peaceful. Due to customs issues, I was stuck in Calais with the cat for a few days. Everything was closed, so I took the opportunity to reflect on my night watch thoughts and create a series of watercolors that will be available in my Etsy shop March 2025. I enjoyed walking around town, being inspired by wall murals while finding new ways to keep Odin (the cat) entertained on land. I left gifts for my wonderful hosts and made a watercolor for my dear friend who rescued us from the customs issue, helping me check-in my pet to the UK via a government-approved entry route: crossing the English Channel by car so that customs could scan my cat’s microchip. My watercolor series include text, like journal entries, of the philosophical places my mind explored during moonlit nights on the North Sea--what do we have in common with ocean creatures like sea jellies, and what can we learn from them? Sailboats and jellyfish are both drifters, using the wind and the current to get around. Sure it's slow, but it sure is energy efficient.
