Now that the frameless port lights were installed, it was time to beging painting the bottom of our Catalina 30. Bottom and bootstripe are next up on the list of projects as we get ready to launch and begin sailing! It makes a pretty Electric Sailboat! In order to finish the bottom, we had to sand off the top layer of antifouling paint and fix the Catalina smile. Once that was complete we could begin painting the bottom of the hull a new color, and jazz it all up even more with a fresh new color on the bootstripe as well. Appearance isn't important for safety when you're sailing around the world, but everyone likes to look pretty! Join us as we get covered in paint! We chose to install Victron Orion DC to DC chargers on our engines to utilize all extra power from the alternators. Finishing the DIY Lithium battery install on our 1996 Fountaine Pajot Venezia 42 Sailing Catamaran! We move the engine start batteries to the engine compartments and install the Victron Orion 12-12-30 smart charger to take extra power generated by the alternators and charge the lithium batteries. With the weather set to make a change for the worse we start making a move back southwards. First step, a pleasant sail back to Burnham once again making use of teh short cut through the Ray channel a) because Its a nice place to stop but more importantly b) its the nearest marina to the Medway, with just the Thames in between.
