Thierry and Barbara sailed their then boat, Cérès (a Centurion 40), to St Petersburg and then followed the inland Russian waterways to the White and the Barents Seas to Tromsø in Norway. Thierry and Barbara are an adventurous couple and hope to be embarking on a voyage to Greenland and beyond on board their new boat, Gaia (an Amel 50). They have been awarded an OCC Challenge Grant for the science and educational work they will be undertaking on their 2021 passage. Boston Harbor Now holds monthly Harbor Use Public Forums for interested stakeholders to learn about and provide feedback on waterfront developments, public planning initiatives, and other harbor projects along Boston Harbor’s waterfront, on the islands, and around the region. In June, we learn about the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture Waterfront Civic/Cultural Space Planning Study. This study assesses the existing and pending civic/cultural uses and future opportunities across waterfront areas in Boston to inform more equitable planning, design, and tenanting approaches for spaces provided through Chapter 91 regulations. Jared Staley, Cultural Planner at the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture, gave a presentation about their study, which will be followed by an open discussion with forum attendees. The event is free and open to the public. This is the recorded version. Cameo Island is a small private island in the bay of Laganas. In the drone video you see the entrance to Cameo Island which is already special: the wooden walkway that hangs above clear blue water. The gracefully fluttering white cloths that can be seen above the beach create a dreamy atmosphere, especially when they stand out against the blue sky. The island is therefore a popular location for weddings. We flew the drone over this small cove so you can clearly see the color of the water and the beautiful surroundings with the cliffs!

One of our NSSC Sailability members, Jazz Turner, featured on Adam Dowling's radio show on BBC Radio Sussex at the end of her epic Project FEAR ("face everything and rise") journey. Jazz is terminally ill with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), and is a full-time wheelchair user. After 28 days sailing around the UK and Ireland single-handed, non-stop and unassisted, Jazz arrived back at Brighton Marina around 13:30 on Monday 30th June 2025. Jazz is raising money for the Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club (NSSC) Sailability fund. The entrance is marked by a red nun buoy. The red nun should not be used for accessing the channel as it is not directly on the channel but will be well to port as you enter. Navionics has the channel correctly positioned and once lined up is straight and long. It feels very narrow and the current can be strong depending on the tides.
