This week we talk about our broken axle repair on our bumper pull camper. I hate it when the axle breaks. I was shocked that it can even happen. We have a Grey Wolf Bunk House Camper. It turns out I caused it by not maintaining the bearings and packing them every year of 5000 miles. We also show how we make fresh mango smoothies. They are so good and healthy and a great way to start the day. Lastly I provide some insight into our sailing plans and crossing the Gulf of Mexico and what the proper timing may be given all this hurricane activity. Gonzalo, Hanna and now Issias have us re-thinking our schedule for this trip. A vela Genoa, na proa muda de bordo, lado, com o timoneiro comandando o leme e o outro tripulante caça, puxa o cabo da escota da vela de proa regulando seu formato de acordo com a velocidade do vento. Vento de sul com 5 a 10 nós, 4,5 velocidade do barco na média.

This footage is from a couple years ago that I finally put together to make video from a great couple days of sailing on the R/P 52 Vitesse down in San Diego. This was the first sail with the new owner and the boat came with a container of sails that needed sorting through. So there was lots of grinding sails up to see if they were still good. We put up a dozen or so headsails and what seemed like a couple dozen spinnakers... Some how I lucked out and was on runners all weekend.

My parents gifted all of us Disney World for Christmas - for our kids, this was a HUGE surprise. In this video we're at Epcot for Christmas Eve and Magic Kingdom for Christmas. We stayed at the Wilderness Loge got to the parks early, returning for a quick break at night, then went back to the parks until they closed. The dining experiences were incredible! We loved the Be Our Guest Restaurant (where we had Christmas dinner) and Coral Reef Restaurant was so fun too (there for Christmas Eve dinner). #disneyworld #epcot #magickingdom

I'm on a camel and that ....... Departure: 07.00 Arrival: 17.30 Distance: 40 miles on paper, 48 miles in practice Weather: sunny, 17 degrees Wind: SW 16-27 kts Waves: Too high for fun :-( We want to get enough of the Lymfjord before sailing back to Dutch waters via the other side of it (near Thyberon) in (hopefully) good winds. Rob will also disembark somewhere in the fjord to fly back via Aalborg. So we did want to make a long sailing day today and according to Windy, the wind would drop from 12 noon on the upper shore (where we are sailing to) and we could almost make it to our destination Hals high upwind. So we manoeuvre out of our tiny spot at 07.00. In reasonably pleasant wind, we set all sails as soon as we are outside (we experience some challenges with the mainsail unfurling, but manage to fix it in time) and set course for Hals. Just after the island, the Urania is at anchor...too nice and so we wave and take pictures. Then the wind picks up considerably and we take in some jib. The WJ goes nicely, but then just after the island the waves come and they are not funny. It turns into a camel rocking day, during which we partly use the engine. A long day of sailing though, with the high waves hurling us backwards at speed....helas. Oh and...the wind is turning more against us and not decreasing either ...aiaiai...that won't be fully sailed to the destination. So be it. This is our hobby after all ;-) I was reminded again this day of a saying by my neighbour across the street, Nel: ‘Sailing is great, but not always fun’. But the sun is shining and once we sail a little more under the shore, the wind and waves ease. After 10 hours we reach Hals and anchor between a kind of mudflats. Very nice. Of course, we are not satisfied with the speed, but that's no different when you don't have a sail. Patty cooks a little AGV (potatoes, vegetables, meat) and we watch a Marvel episode before we all slip into our bunks. Into the fjord tomorrow..... #bumpyride #sailing #grenaa
