I received a DJI Mini 2 for Christmas for the purpose of taking video from a third person perspective. I want to take video of a boat at anchorage, or fly along the beach while we are walking, or sailing through the waves, or up-close video of other hard to reach places like the many lighthouses that dot the Chesapeake Bay. I have RC plane and helicopter experience from my youth, but the DJI Mini 2 is supposed to be fool proof so I should have no problems. Join us as we challenge this concept and take the drone out for the very first time, and not without its challenges. I will close with some comments of my issues and thoughts. I did read the manual before going out. This is just another step in our journey to document our second life, retirement. Update I have flown the DJI Mini 2 many more times since this episode was uploaded. I shelved the iPhone 6 in favor of a used/abused iPhone 11 to eliminate the CPU issue, successfully tested the Return to Home (RTH) function, and pushed it to its range limit, no issues to date. I can't wait to fly it from a boat.

We have had a lot of projects with this jeep, today we are going over our top 7 upgrades for trailing. This options may differ for you and your trailing needs. We are not rock crawls, we are in sandy destinations were the trail ends and the party begins. First upgrade we did to our jeep and a must if you trail at night are lights. Nothing like hitting the trail and the only reason your jeep ain't coming home is because you couldn't see. You thought the trail was okay! Now your in a mess you can't get out of. Don't be that person, get some good trail lights. We went with barricade bumpers for their solid construction and beefy look. Not only have they protected our jeep from trail damage, but they saved our jeep when a snowbird crossed 3 lanes of traffic knocking our jeep in the turn lane. If you trail, you are going to need a winch. It may be to help out others along the trail, or made you make an error and get stuck. Our son, while never getting stuck himself, has used this winch countless times help others out. Knock on wood he never gets stuck, but like a spare tire a winch is not needed, until it is. When we got the jeep it had 3 inch blocks on it which does no look as good, plus it stretches' thing and shortens your shifters. We changed this to a 4 inch suspension lift with on inch body lift. Lowering the body raised the shifters up and made the visible gaps between the frame much less noticeable. Also with the larger total lift we have we can easily fit 33' inch tires. With larger tires you can really hurt torque making your jeep perform poorly. With this gear change it moved us back to what stock tires would perform like when we up our tires to 33' inch tires. Right now we have 32' inch tires but our jeeps shoes are getting a bit worn and the change is Imminent. We choose to go with Boom Mat for ease of use to reduce the tin noise we were getting with the large subwoofer. We also wanted to help prevent road noise and cut down heat, since the carpet was almost ripped apart. For the noise and heat this solution worked great until we added AC. The window would supply enough air that you would not feel the road heat, but now with the AC it just can move enough air. There was more work than throwing a sub box in and calling it a day. We actually spent time planning where the ports vented, the sub pointed, and the box volume to get max bass out of this Skar Sub in little space. We even sealed up everything so that when the tailgate is close, it doesn't look like this jeep has a system. Our next big task, one we need to do before winter, is to get our Mizzen mast up. We haven't touched it for a long while, so couldn't remember quite where we had got to and where everything was. Several years ago we pretty comprehensively stripped the mast of fittings and primed, undercoated and top coated it with International Perfection. We had got partway through wiring it for AIS and WiFi, then someone damaged it. Now it is repaired it is time to get ready to put it up. Lundi 16 septembre 2024 Marina Hop O Nose à Catskill, ce matin, préparation de dernière minutes, finalement youppi nous sommes les 1er. Donc de 8h30 à 9h30 mât monté. Ca presse pas de temps à perdre pour l'équipe qui monte les mâts, nous devons quitter aussitôt fait. Nous allons ancrer à 500m plus loin pour ajuster le gréments. On installe ensuite le génois et hop monté sur l'enrouleur il sera prêt à être déployé. Bruno commence la grand voile et boom il a échappé la drisse qui sort du mât. Merde il sera obligé de monter au mât pour repasser une corde pour rehisser la drisse. Pas de chaise de mât. Fuck 1er incident. On décide de partir à 14h20 il fait chaud, un peu de vent fait du bien. La navigation est bonne, décide de s'ancrer à Vanderburg cove. Prêt pour le souper et boom 2ème incident l'électricité saute, pu de 110v donc pu ordi, pu de four pu de café. On change de menu. Brûlé on va se coucher après le souper. Distance parcourue: 22 MN Température: 15° à 27°.
