We return to our life on the boat in Spain and do our bit for the VHF cruisers net before we even managed to unpack. After struggling to be healthy through "dry January", we go on a road trip around Andalucia in Spain. The VHF net is a great way to connect with your local boat community and a good way to help fellow cruisers out as well as benefitting yourself. Our first stop on our road trip was El Torcal in Antequera, an area of strange shaped limestone rocks that were previously covered by water and then rose up due to disruption o the seabed and then the wind and rain eroded them away to form these shapes. We did a fourty five minute walk around the rocks. We stayed the night in an interesting mountain hotel full of stuffed animal heads. The next day we drove to Ronda where we admired the Puente Nuevo 'New bridge' and then visited the largest Bullring in the world ( measured by the 'rueda' - ring and not the amount of people that can be seated ) The children absorbed the information and found ways to understand and relive the experience. We learn more about orcas and discuss the orca sailboat interactions, what does science know and don't know and we discuss some of the common theories regarding the behavior and mitigations. In the next episode will we go back to our normal format for videos and we start sailing again. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.
Viaggio a Maiorca.

Please call us for the blowout special price. This is the last MH 37 bought at the old 2015 price but it's a 2016. Best priced MH 37 in the country! The New Marlow-Hunter 37 is a stunning cruiser that is larger than any of her competitors and by far the largest volume sailboat on the market under 40 feet. The updated window line gives this yacht a sleek feel, but the improvements don’t end there. The Glenn Henderson hull design still reflects the bow hollow and stern reflex but the design has been improved upon with a hard hull chine featuring a wider beam carried further aft which allows for more space below as well as stability and performance on the water. The deck features a sleek, modern profile with large side windows allowing for increased interior light. The deck hatches are flush-mount, offering an enhanced look that complements the new profile. Lengthening the cockpit has allowed the MH37 to have a cockpit that is roomier and the fold down cockpit table allows the crew to take advantage of more cockpit space. The cockpit of the MH37 also features a fold-down swim platform that extends the already lengthy cockpit another four feet when folded down while the boat is docked or at anchor. Even with the fold-down swim platform, the MH37 has a telescoping stainless steel swim ladder that can be easily accessed while the swim platform is up or down. This safety feature not only functions well, providing stable steps for re-boarding the boat, but also hides away, making for a cleaner looking stern. The transom features a large storage area designated to neatly stow away shore power cords. Down below, the master aft cabin is roomy and features comfortable headroom and private access to the head. The interior has been enhanced with a richer look and feel. Enhancements start at the sole of the interior which features a hardwood flooring look that accentuates the true beauty of the Hunter 36′s interior. The large galley features Corian countertops with complementing stainless steel fiddles that not only keep items from falling off the countertops in a seaway but also serve as excellent hand holds for personal stability when preparing a meal or moving about below. The main salon is breathtaking from the level of fit and finish to the sheer volume she delivers. She features a full navigation station and a salon table also doubles as an additional bunk area for 2 people when the table is lowered into the bunk position. The forward cabin is large enough that it has been mistaken for the master cabin. Throughout the MH37 she features seriously upgraded hardware and superior features such as warm LED lighting, dovetailed drawers, ball bearing slides on cabinet drawers, superior fit and finish with real and exotic timber used with high end fabrics to create, an inviting and warm interior second to none. Its high performance hull design provides clearly superior performance on all points of sail while maintaining safe, comfortable and easy handling characteristics in inclement weather. The hardware chosen reads as a who’s who of high quality in way of Lewmar winches, Yanmar engines, Dometic climate control and superior gel coats, resins and build materials. Marlow-Hunters “Grid Truss” hull liner combined with the Dupont Kevlar “Load Path Reinforcement strapping” provides a near perfect finish for the bilge and machinery spaces while adding enormous reserve strength and resistance to the hull structure. Providing triangulation of all forces from the Patented B&R rig design to the unique keel sump system, the Marlow Hunter cradles its captain and crew in safety with spirited sailing. Let the Professional Brokers at LYS show you how the Marlow-Hunter can satisfy your Sailing Needs. Please contact us for more details! Price shown reflects MSRP before freight, commissioning, dealer and manufacturer options. For more information, please contact us at info@littleyachtsales.com or 281-334-6500.
Having just returned from the Santander ISAF Sailing World Championships with his best ever result from a senior World Championship, Lorenzo Chiavarini has been handed an extra boost to his flourishing campaign after been awarded the coveted Marlow Ropes Award. The Marlow Ropes Award was introduced in 2002 with the aim of rewarding Britain’s most promising young sailors for their determination, focus and talent. The 20-year-old from Argyll has had an impressive year in the Laser class despite suffering from a season-threatening wrist break back in March. With the help of the British Sailing Team sport science staff, the Plymouth University student was soon back out on the water and wasted no time in claiming an emphatic victory at the Under 21 Laser European Championships in Torbole, Italy, by a staggering 24-point margin. Chiavarini then followed this up with back to back victories by claiming the under 21 Laser World Championship title in Douarnenez, France. With a spring in his step and as one of the British Sailing Team’s most promising young talents, the under 21 Laser World and European Champion scored his best result at a senior World Championship – finishing 11th in Santander– narrowly missing the cut for the medal race by just one point. “It is a very prestigious award to win within the British Sailing Team and it is a fantastic achievement after such a great year,” said Chiavarini. The Marlow award entitles the British Sailing Team Podium Potential sailor to free Marlow rope for a year, which Chiavarini says will be invaluable as he prepares for another successful season. “It is fantastic to have the Marlow team behind for next year’s racing. The Laser is a one design class so having the best rope and equipment can really make the difference.” Barrie Edgington, British Sailing Team Podium Potential Squad Manager, commented: “Lorenzo has had a great season. To win back to back gold medals at a U21 World and European Championships is in itself a fantastic achievement, but to do it in a season in which he suffered a relatively serious injury shows real character, so hats off to him for bouncing back.” “His performance at the ISAF Sailing World Championships was also one to be admired, he sailed a great series and to finish only one point of the medal race was a great way to round off a stellar season for Lorenzo in the Laser class.” “The Marlow Ropes Award is a prestigious award within the British camp with past winners going on to achieve great success in the sport of sailing. I am looking forward to seeing Lorenzo continue to develop and fully utilise the help and support from Marlow Ropes in order to help him achieve his goals in 2015.” For further information on Marlow Ropes including the latest products and technical information visit www.marlowropes.com.
