We then dropped the hook and anchored out as we prepare to leave next week. Join us aboard Polaris for the final chapter of an unforgettable sailing season in Arctic Norway. In this episode, we cruise from Bjarkøy towards Finnsnes, navigating narrow shallow channels, tidal currents, fishing buoys, low clearance cables and shifting autumn winds along the Norwegian coast. We visit the beautiful island of Bjarkøy, once an important Viking centre, explore the harbour, forage for porcini mushrooms and witness the first Northern Lights of the season — a clear sign that winter is closing in fast. Le Vendée Globe 2012 est la course autour du monde en solitaire sans escale et sans assistance qui passe par les trois caps, le Cap de Bonne Espérance, le Cap Leeuwin et le Cap Horn. Le départ de la course est donné des Sables d'Olonne tous les quatre ans. Les éditions précédentes ont été remportées par Titouan Lamazou, Alain Gautier, Christophe Auguin, Michel Desjoyeaux et Vincent Riou.
