Expecting the next low pressure system reaching the Azores, we quickly hop over 50 nautical miles from the Azorian island Graciosa to Terceira. Here a long awaited package finally reaches us after enduring thousands of hard miles over months with important broken systems on board– even over 50 days across the Pacific Ocean. But before on Graciosa....thermal baths, what a special treat! On no other island have we walked as much as on Graciosa as Graciosa’s traffic system is rather improvable, making us hitchhike to the thermal baths of Carapacho lying at the foot of the caldeira we explored and showed you in our last episode. Rural, picturesque and quiet landscapes surprise us as well as the newly built breakwater close to Graciosa’s main town Santa Cruz da Graciosa – a new marina is being built!

Ora che finalmente è arrivato, siamo pronti per tutti gli interventi e la manutenzione di cui ha bisogno😊 In questo periodo cercheremo di imparare il più possibile del nostro motore, consapevoli di quanto sia necessaria la conoscenza di ogni elemento della nostra barca a vela, soprattutto nei momenti di emergenza. Wir nehmen Euch mit zu einem Besuch der wunderschönen Stadt Trinidad de Cuba, schlendern über den Wochenmarkt von Cienfuegos und segeln dann in Richtung Cayo Largo, einer kleinen Insel mit traumhaft weißen Stränden, kristallklarem Wasser und beeindruckend großen Leguanen. Auf der Cayo Campos besuchen wir anschließend die dort lebenden Affen.

Guatemala City ist eine aufregende Stadt, in besondere, wenn man sie mit dem Fahrrad erkundet. Marcos aus dem Hostel Ketzalroo hat uns ein paar nicht so touristische Ecken in Guatemala City und ein paar kulinarische Köstlichkeiten seines Landes gezeigt. Danach ging es zurück nach Fronteras, wo Karl schon sehrnsüchtig auf mich wartete und unruhig an seinen Festmachern zog. Matthieu ist für kurze Zeit auch noch mal an Bord gekommen und wir sind zusammen nach Cayo Quemado gefahren, einer wunderschönen ruhigen Bucht ein Stückchen flussabwärts. Dort wollte ich mir bei Tom in seinem Segel- und Rigging-Loft einen KVA für mein neues Rigg abholen. Natürlich darf ein kleiner Ausflug mit dem Dinghi nicht fehlen.
