What started as a frustratingly slow crawl to Grassy Islet—taking an entire day just to cover the first 15 miles—quickly turned into a sailor's nightmare. In the middle of the night, the "no wind" struggle vanished, replaced by violent, unpredictable squalls. We fought the elements for hours until the sound we dreaded most echoed through the dark: the screecher finally gave way. With 300 miles of open ocean to cover and a damaged sail, it was a challenging time to say the least. In fact, this episode will also cover agricultural and heavy equipment as well. This is incredibly important stuff, as increased wear in diesel engines will not get better with time. It’s so important to never miss service intervals and oil changes. We discuss the different types of motor oils, and how additives and blends affect your engine. Pole dance, jacking, stingray, pelican, eagle, bikini, dresses, AIS, antennas, sanding teak Our pre-strainer for the forward A/C keeps getting clogged with floating seagrass. We have to remove all bedding, cushions to access and clean every three days. Big hassle. What started as a single antenna replacement has blossomed into installing two new antennas and coax. The hardest part is usually routing the new cables. Our Em-Trak B923 AIS has been shipped to the United Kingdom for repair. Hired someone to go up the mizzen mast to replace one antenna. Karen sanded a bit of teak toe rail where the fenders had rubbed. She then used Sikkens Cetol for touchup. Had some fun in the woods. Saw some wildlife. Our favorite sighting though was a stingray in the Atlantic. Deciding on what dresses to get rid of. Of course dancing.
