We are back! I know we have been a little bit of hiatus while we had some life events take our focus from the boat and videos for a couple of weeks. We will continue on with them moving forward. This video can help explain what we have been up to, how we prepared for Hurricane Harvey and mourning the loss of Debs Mom. Very sad times for us. Join us on our journey as we continue to rebuild, refit and prepare our Formosa 51 Sailboat for our continued cruising journey. We have always loved the Formosa, bought one (on a bit of a whim) late in 2014, moved aboard this one right away and started to do our refit while living board. We are avid fans of Cruising Outpost and Good Ole Boat (Good Old Boat) magazines and love the ideas we get from them. Arrrghhhhhhhh....

Every hiking specific on-water training session should begin with a warm-up to prepare yourself to give the best physical and mental output possible while preventing injury. As you get back to sailing and challenging your hiking endurance, be sure to remember that warming-up is a key aspect to all sailing workouts and training. In this video, I'll cover the Sailing Performance Training Warm-Up Protocol, an essential start to every sailing workout. These learned movements, breathing techniques, and mental patterns trained and instilled during the warm-up enhance your athletic development and are proven to increase sailing performance on the water.

While at the beach, children can dive deeper into the plastics issue by looking for smaller pieces of plastic, also known as microplastics. In a small designated area along the wrack line, students use a sieve to sift through sand to find and identify microplastics. These findings highlight how larger items (i.e. plastic bottles) break down into smaller and smaller pieces.
