Don Hackbarth moved with his family to Atlanta in 1984 where he was drawn to the competitive strength of the Snipe fleet. Don knows firsthand that in order to be effective on the water in this tactical one-design boat you have to have command of 'sail trim, tactics and strategy on the water.' A long time advocate for the class and US National Secretary he sees the future of the class in getting young people into the boat for a hands on experience and a great foundation for a lifetime of sailing.

The new Philippe Briand designed Sun Odyssey 409 is not only elegant, but also built for speed. A modern hull with a hard chine and excellent stability makes the Sun Odyssey 409 a pleasure to sail.
Sunday October 17, 2010 at Small's field in York Pa a game that will go into the records as an Instant Classic Football game was played.. n a close match-up with the Wellington Panthers, BYC losses on a last second play, when #1 Jaden of Wellington made one of the best runs of the season. BYC was out coached this day of both sides of the ball. I waited for this game all season, and it didn't lived up to the Hype It srarted of like any other game, in which we took a 7 - 0 lead. One of the biggest plays happened on a 4th and 1 with BYC driving in Wellington territory. On a QB sneak #3 Trenis appeard to get the first down on a QB sneak, but the Refs call a penalty on one of our runnig backs for HELPING MOVE THE PILE.. This took us to a 4th and 3 after the five yard penalty. On the ensuing play Trenis runs around the end for what appears to be another first down, but the Ref make a bad spit on the ball. and Wellington takes over. Two plays later Wellingtons #1 burst his way towards a 70 something yard TD! The extra point was scored as well, which evens it at 7 apiece. It would stay that way till the third when #1 does it again. Where was Trenis? About 5 Yards behind #1. The kid is fast, and the defense was not prepared. We stopped them from getting the extra point, the score is now 13 - 7. Going into the 4th Quarter, the Red Raiders needed to respond quickly. This game had me on the edge of my seat, after a couple bone headed plays, the 4th quarter started on like a 3rd and 15. We had attempted one unconventional pass which fell horribly incomplete. Trenis drops back on a conventional 3step drop, waits, waits, then steps and theows a pass to #11 Clovis that was into coverage that was so tight, I don't know how lil 9 year old clovis make this catch, stays on his feet and runs 15, 20 more yards on the play, putting us first and goal on like the 9. WOW!! We score on a QB sneak and even it up 13 - 13 with like 5 minutes to go. Big play here, I am like throw thr ball, throw the ball...they run the ball, Wellington makes a stop 13 -13 5 minutes to go. Wellington takes the kickoff to the 40 of the Red Raides, a couple plays later #3 Trenis makes a game saving tackle on like the 15 yard line. He hit a extra gear, finally catching Jaden, grabbing a little fask mask at the same time, oops...but a great game saving tackle. The defense makes a wonderful stand and the offense gets the ball back with 52 seconds left.... #3 hands off to #11 TE on an End Around. The TE then drops back to pass on a designed trick play. Only the defense is not tricked and #11 throws into coverage for an INT. Wow... With the score 18 - 18 with 25 seconds left on the clock Wellington runs the ball for a couple, and with time tunning out 5..4...3...2..1..snaps the ball pitchs it to #1, Jaden creates a play out of his imagination and Wellington wins the game with no time left on the clock. A Hailmary run!! Wow!
