Der doppelte Schotstek dient zum verbinden zwei ungleich starke Enden. Dieser Knoten hält im Gegensatz zum einfachen Schotstek auch bei wechselnder Belastung.

Der Roringstek wird benutzt, um eine Leine an einem Ring zu befestigen. Der Knoten ist allerdings nur schwer wieder zu lösen, wenn er unter starkem Zug gestanden hat.

Der Palstek ( Bulin ) ist ein Auge das sich nicht zuzieht, hält gut und ist auch nach langer und wechselnder Belastung meist gut zu lösen. Der Knoten dient zum Bergen und Sichern von Personen und ist zum Festmachen geeignet. Als Festmacher wird die Leine als feste Schlaufe um den Poller gelegt oder an einem festen Punkt an Land festgebunden.

Belegen auf einer Klampe bedeutet, ein Ende daran fest zu machen. Der Knoten besteht aus mehreren Kreuzschlägen und einem Kopfschlag. Der Kopfschlag verhindert das Öffnen des Knotens.

Der Webeleinstek ( Mastwurf ) kann sowohl gesteckt als auch geworfen werden. Mit diesem Knoten befestigt man eine Leine an Ringen, Spieren oder Pollern.
