** NOW SOLD ** Hunter 38 ‘Sha Meduza’ Launched in 2007 Sha Meduza is a beautifully presented Hunter 38 and is exclusively for sale with Yoti South East Queensland. When released the Hunter 38 went on to win Cruising World Magazine’s best production cruiser under 40ft. Stepping aboard ‘Sha Meduza’ it’s easy to understand why, the two cabin layout has one of the most inviting and comfortable layouts I have seen in a yacht of this size. The large queen size berth aft disappears under the cockpit sole. The cabin is fitted with seating port and starboard and has twin hanging lockers. The L-shaped galley is opposite the head and is very well equipped with twin stainless steel sinks, large Corion counter top, separate 12 volt under bench fridge and freezer. The two-burner stainless steel stove and hob is gimballed and fitted with pot holders but lacks a decent fiddle rail. Galley storage is great with a bank of cupboards above the benches and a cupboard beneath the sinks. The main U-shaped dinette is to starboard and features a polished teak table on double pedestals. There is a forward double cabin with cedar lined hanging lockers. Hunter yachts are solidly constructed using Baltek end-grain balsa core sandwich for topside and a solid GRP laminate below the waterline. Lay-up includes chop strand, woven rovings and bi-directional cloth. Kevlar is added from the stem to the keel for added impact resistance. Hull and deck are joined on an external flange and sealed with 3M 5200 sealer and thru-bolted. Cruz Control boasts a carbon mast, boom and spinnaker pole plus features a deck mounted retractable sprit. The rod rigging was replaced in 2008. The aforementioned sail wardrobe includes a near new cruising main (2014 – very lightly used), a lightly used carbon ocean racing main (Oct 2012), additional mainsail, five headsails and five spinnakers. For heavy conditions the set up offers an inner forestay, check stays and staysail plus a collision bulkhead neatly sealed forward of the main cabin. Below decks the Santa Cruz interior offers almost unparalleled features and comfort in such a speedy yacht. The large owner's cabin is forward with offset settee, loads of storage lockers and private entry into the main head with separate shower stall. A large saloon offers copious seating plus up to four sea berths with lee cloths. A full featured sea kindly galley lies to port opposite the navigation station with full instrumentation plus an additional and very handy storage and seating area sits behind the navigator. The Yanmar 75Hp engine was replaced in 2007, the generator in 2008 and the vessels A/C unit was fitted new in 2005.
