** NOW SOLD ** Kaivita is an Alaska 43 that is now exclusively for sale with YOTI. Launched in July 2015 in Ballina NSW after a 6-year build at the Ballina boatyard, Kaivita is a custom-built heavy displacement cruising yacht from the drawing table of world-renowned yacht designer, Ted Brewer from Canada. The owner wanted a steel yacht with huge range under power and with a comfortable and easily managed sailing ability. Ted Brewer is very well known for his highly seaworthy designs and the “small ship” style of this vessel is what caught the eye of the owner. Such is the range of this vessel she can go from Sydney to Auckland under power alone. Kaivita has a beautiful light filled interior. She is a two-cabin layout with four bunks in the forward v-berth and a large double berth owners’ cabin aft with a separate office nook. The timbers used throughout are Celery Top Pine trim and planking - all varnished. The floor is Jarrah. All main surfaces are faired, corners curved and painted with 2 pack paint finish. Every piece of plywood used in the fit out was first edge saturated in Epoxy wood preserver and then painted with 2 coats of epoxy before being fitted into the boat. The engine is a keel-cooled marinised Isuzu 4JB1 – naturally aspirated making her easy to source parts, simple to service, reliable and highly fuel efficient. The galley has a high-quality Force 10 stainless steel gas stove and oven fitted. The refrigeration is from Ozefridge and is built in under the bench and runs off 12 volt or 240 volts. She comes with B&G chartplotter, Simrad sounder and log, Simrad wind display, Coursemaster auto-pilot and is fitted with AIS. This Gunfleet 58 definitely has space! And then it has some more space.
