Dufour yachts have a reputation for being seagoing passagemakers. The builder has a philosophy that stresses a combination of performance and comfort under all manner of weather conditions. The 38's under body, with its lead fin keel and fine entries, combines speed and stability with fingertip control, even when reefed in heavy weather. We had the opportunity for a walkthrough on board of the brandnew Southerly 480, which is a slightly improved version of the famous SY "Distant Shores III", one of my favourite YouTube channels. Hanse is know for high quality sporty boats and these two are definitely among them. Treated myself to a visit of the Interboot in Friedrichshafen in late 2018.
