► Complete test to be discovered in Multihulls World #181: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/trimaran/libertist-703-small-trimaran-big-personality ► First sailings for the Libertist 703 in La Rochelle (France) - this folding trimaran is the little brother of the Libertist 853. The Libertist 703, the little sister to the 853, is finally sailing despite delays due to COVID 19; her small size prompted the yard to develop a quick-folding system to facilitate road transport. In addition to the centerboard and the two rudders, each float is equipped with a semi-foiling system. The aim is therefore not to fly, but to provide downwind lift - more power and the ability to carry more canvas. The marked chine of the central hull reconciles the finesse of the underwater hull and habitable volume – 5’ (1.50 m) headroom. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Rega Yacht Length: 22’11” (6.99 m) Beam: 8’4”/19’6” (2.55/5.95 m) Light displacement: 1,875 lbs (850 kg) Draft: 15”/3’10” (0.38/1.16 m) Mainsail area: 290 sq ft (27 m²) Jib: 130 sq ft (12 m²) Asymmetric Spi: 270 sq ft (25 m²) Engine: 4 kW ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! We were asked to do a walk-through of Freelance, our Pearson 36 Cutter (also informally known as a Pearson 367), so here it is the first part. It focuses on its above-deck features and our recommendations for how to best sail it. Our cutter is Hull #4. It was built in 1981, and launched on the East Coast in 1982. We bought it 1991 at Barkers Island Marina, Lake Superior, and renamed it Freelance. Since then it has serve us well as our magic carpet, which has safely taken us far and wide on the Great Lakes. We know from our experience it’s a awesome cruising boat. Here are some of its official specifications: LOA: 36'5"/11.1m LWL: 30'0" /9.1m Hull speed: 7.34 knots Beam: 11'6" /3.4m Draft: 5'6" /1.68m Height above DWL: 47'4" /14.4m Sail area: 599 sq. ft./55.7 sq. m Displacement: 17,700 lbs./8,028.6 kg Ballast: 7,300 lbs./3,377.2 kg Engine: 40-hp Westerbeke diesel Diesel tankage: 50 gal. /189.3 liters Water tankage: 150 gal./567.8 liters Water heater: 6 gal. /22.7 liters Holding tankage: 20 gal./75.7 liters Batteries: 3 Series 31 AGM Incidentally, the Pearson 36 Cutter/Pearson 367 may at first glance seem to have the same hull as the popular Pearson 365, but doesn’t. Its underbody is very difference. And just to avoid misunderstandings, please note our boat is not for sale.

► Full test in Multihulls World #181: https://www.multihulls-world.com/news-catamaran-trimaran/aventura-37-a-much-anticipated-compact-catamaran ► The Aventura 37 had its World Premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021. She sails for the first time under a spinnaker off Canet-en-Roussillon. You can experience the full test of this compact cruising catamaran - 37 feet only - in Multihulls World #181! Presentation picture: (c) Ludovic Fruchaud - Imacis. ► What different about this new model slotted in opportunely between the 34 and the 44? The lines are still signed by Lasta Design, but with more pronounced chines than those of the 44, a helm station set aft, so as not to interfere with sail trimming - just in front - and a sunbathing area on the bimini - which can be used in port or at anchor. The builder has chosen quality - isophthalic and epoxy resins, water-repellent woodwork, A4 316 ISI stainless steel parts, Harken and Spinlock fittings, Elvstrøm sail wardrobe, ZSpars rig, Raymarine electronics, etc. The light displacement announced by the yard – under 17,500 lbs (8 t) - combined with nearly 1,020 sq ft (95 m²) of upwind sail area promises liveliness. There are also good water and fuel capacities, not to mention the 9.2 cu ft (260 l) refrigerator. The Aventura 37 will be available in a 3 or 4-cabin version. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Aventura Catamarans Architect: Lasta Design Studio Length: 35’9” (10.90 m) Width: 19’6” (5.94 m) Displacement: 17,420 lbs (7.9 t) Draft: 3’11” (1.20 m) Sail area: 1,012 sq ft (94 m²) Cabins: 3 or 4 Water capacity: 2 x 66 US gal (2 x 250 l) Diesel capacity: 2 x 66 US gal (2 x 250 l) Engines: 2 x 20/30 hp ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Do Kate's new seasickness meds work? How does the dog adjust to sailing? How is the boat set up differently for bluewater ocean passagemaking? What is it like out there? #sailing #offshore #ocean #boatlife We are finally offshore, on a 2700 mile Journey from St. Maarten to Azores. We won't see land for at least two weeks. We will encounter storms, be becalmed, see whales and dolphins and more. We listen to the sounds of the ocean. Wind, waves, and the sound of the water moving against the hull bring a sense of asmr and calming at times. This is Day 1. The hardest portion of the journey is re-adjusting to the sea and leaving the safety of land in the Caribbean islands. If you enjoy pure offshore sailing, and what to learn what it is like to cross the Atlantic ocean for the first time, you find this series of videos enjoyable. Who are we? No babes in bikinis here. No fake boat fails and made up crashes. This is real sailing. We don't do makeup, we don't try to look sexy or be Instagram models. We are just making raw and real inspiring and relaxing sailing and travel videos. This is what it is like for normal hard working people to sell it all and live aboard a sailboat or tiny home and travel the world. We are Kate, Curtis, and Roxy the Sailing Dog aboard our 46 foot sailing vessel (s/v or s/y) Sweet Ruca. We sold our house, bought a boat, re-fit it ourselves, and started off to sail around the world, the hard way, via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good hope, on original trade wind routes of the tall ships. We are not beginning sailors, we have lots of experience in boats from sailing dinghies and small powerboats to large racing yachts. Kate is a school teacher taking an extended sabbatical, Curtis is a boat rocking entrepreneur that enjoys the path less traveled. Roxy the Sailing Dog is a shelter rescue dog who now enjoys beach life and the endless new smells of "head out the window" boat rides. Want to learn more? Want to know more about our boat? A thorough walkthrough of the Sunreef 50 at the Cannes Boat Show in 2021 - by author and multihull specialist Gregor Tarjan.
For more details about "Liberty": https://bit.ly/liberty-for-sale It's always exciting when a superyacht becomes available for sale for the first time. "Liberty" is a very unique vessel, and after enjoying her for many years the owner has now selected Northrop & Johnson to sell her. This gave me a great opportunity to go on board and show you around!
Enjoy this walkthrough! This voyaging yacht is over 18 meters long and designed for long-distance cruises. She has an excellent range, her spaces are elegant and practical in equal measure, and there is lots of room on board. Comfortable and seaworthy, with a cruising range of 900 nautical miles and a central raised helm station, she is ideal for slow cruises, favoring introspection in addition to getting away from it all or leisure activities. Learn more: https://www.beneteau.com/us/grand-trawler/grand-trawler-62 -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We crossed the bridge to Cape Cod and found this 1982 Gulfstar 44 sailboat for sale for $59,900. It's a neat layout, not unlike the Pearson 385 sailboat tour we took a while back. She's been on the hard for the past 7 years so she could use a good helping of TLC to bring her back up to the race-winning condition she was in before being hauled out. ======= CAPT Q MERCH ===== https://www.etsy.com/shop/CaptainQYachtHunter ============== Support us ============== Like what we're doing & want to help?? A nice example of Bavaria 40 Voyager year 2013. She has always been used for charter but always kept in very good condition. She is the 3 cabins version, one forward cabin and two aft cabins with two heads. The last charter was in August 2021 she is now ready for sail. Bavaria is a German shipyard established in 1978 in the north of Bavaria. A BAVARIA yacht is the perfect interaction of many elements. Everything is built around the extensive expertise of German engineering. The owner now wants to sell it as it is not convenient for him to do charter anymore. The berth is available in Port Ginesta in a great location. https://www.networkyachtbrokersbarcelona.com/boats_for_sale/Bavaria_40_Voyager-34166.html/
For Sale by David Walters Yachts www.davidwaltersyachts.com Central Listing Agent: Erik Haaland / erik@davidwaltersyachts.com View Broker Bio: https://www.davidwaltersyachts.com/yacht-brokers/erik-haaland/13 ----- One of the most popular blue water cruising yachts ever designed, the Queen Long Marine built Hylas 54 is steeped in tradition, culture, and world renowned build quality. Over 70 Hylas 54's were constructed from over a dozen years but only a special few were fitted with the coveted centerboard option. This feature provided the design with the ability to have draft slightly less than 6' with the board up. A great feature to cruise more of the Bahamas, Chesapeake, and shallower spots of the world than the rest of her brethren. This is a weighted board, and thanks to the Frers design means that she not only points higher to weather, but is also faster in all points of sail thanks to less wetted surface. Kismet not only featured the centerboard option but has also been also been cared for at the highest level. You will find a Hylas 54 that checks all the boxes. Cosmetics, check. Rigging, check. Mechanically, check. Structurally, check. Kismet also features the deck saloon layout, which had a sleeker deck profile then other raised saloon versions. The saloon has only one step down going forward or aft, instead of the two steps down in the raised saloon version. The listing agent has sailed and sold many Hylas's and this one ranks in the top few brokerage listings that have really stood out. The superior craftsmanship of Hylas's exclusive builder, Queen Long, is evident everywhere, from the matched grain, varnished teak interior woodwork to the extra strong fiberglass hull reinforced with Twaron, to the large cockpit, molded non-skid decks and the numerous deck storage lockers and multiple stainless opening ports. The transom has wide built-in steps to the swim platform with a drop down swim ladder. An outdoor shower compartment makes cleaning off after a snorkel or trip to the beach a cinch. Kismet's cockpit features a hard dodger with durable Clear-to-Sea panes and a hard top bimini with roll down side panels making it possible to completely enclose the area in foul weather. The six Solbian solar panels installed on top of the bimini provide ample power for daily use. Kismet's electronics, upgraded in 2017, feature touchscreen Garmin GPS monitors both in the cockpit and in the nav area below, Garmin radar, a GXM53 Sirius Weather radio, and Simrad auto pilot controllers, again in both the cockpit and nav. area. Raymarine ST 60 wind, speed and depth instruments are located in the cockpit. The boat comes loaded with communications equipment, including two VHF radios, a SSB, and Iridium Sat phone, and In-reach satellite position sending unit, AIS, and a Ubiquity WiFi receiver. At the stern, Kismet boasts a custom stainless Wells Arch, which provides a superb platform for antennas, lights and a new KVH Trac Vision satellite TV antenna. Most importantly, the arch is home to a power winch for raising the 10 ft. rigid inflatable dinghy with its new 9.9 HP Yanmar outboard, well above on-coming waves. Kismet is powered by a Yanmar 125 HP turbo diesel, which turns a PYI 3-blade feathering MAX Prop. Kismet's fuel tanks hold 323 gallons of fuel. That's nearly 1,300 miles of range under power at 6.8 knots. The shaft is also fitted with a Spurs line & net cutter for guard against Maine lobster pots. A custom fuel polishing and tank transfer system makes fuel management a snap. There are three alternators: an 80 AMP starter bank alternator, a 150 AMP House Battery alternator and a 120 AMP 24 volt battery bank alternator, which powers the water maker, windlass, and bow thruster. To provide power to all appliances and to charge the robust battery banks, there is a Kohler 9 KVW generator powered by a Yanmar engine. The solar panels minimize the need to operate the generator most of the time with peak capacity of over 35 amps. Kismet has been maintained to the highest standards all of which has been documented in extensive logs covering maintenance and equipment upgrades. Virtually all yard work has been performed by Zahnisers in Solomons, MD, one of the best yards on all the Chesapeake, and all work details and invoices are available for inspection.

In this episode we dive into a Hunter 36 and explain what we want in a boat and what we do not want in a boat. We looked at a 1989 Morgan, 1993 Hunter and some other boats. Oh and we also catched a fish haha! Who are we? We are Dirk and Maraya. We just decided to sell our house, and actually everything we own. Our possessions felt like weight and we had a dream. Corona made us realise that if we want to do something big, we should do it now. As afraid as we are to start this adventure, we are going for it with confidence, as we are following our hearts. This isn't our usual episode, but we've been asked so many times from subscribers and now also patrons, so here it is... our teeny tiny floaty boaty! We love Pickle, we hope you do too! She may be small, but has everything we need and more importantly everything we can afford. It really is marvellous that we really can sail around the world with our family without bucket loads off money and a fancy super yacht! 😃 Back to normal next episode as we tackle the install of our new Lazy Jack bag and get our Genoa's UV band replaced. Thank you to our wonderful patrons, you are really helping to make all this possible! Don't forget to pop over to Patreon to watch all the extra footage. Hier unser erster Erfahrungsbericht. Winged sailing. The parasailor is a combination of spinnaker and gennaker. What makes the light headsail so special, however, is the wing that is blown through the sail. This also means that the large sail can be used not only in light winds. We have already set our new sail on the Dilly-Dally, a Moody 425, several times. Here is our first experience report.

Welcome aboard for PART 2 of our tour of our floating home - our Lucia 40 Fountaine Pajot Catamaran. We posted a video last year of the inside of our boat and we have finally got round to sharing the outside and how we planned the extra's we added ourselves or included in our Fountaine Pajot purchase.
