** NOW SOLD ** Black Jack is a 1999 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 that is now listed exclusively for sale with YOTI Pittwater. Designed by Daniel Andrieu, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 was first released to the public in 1998 and so successful was the design, with more than 1,000 yachts being built, that Jeanneau didn’t make any real modifications until 2003 when they released 40.3. Black Jack, is a 2-cabin owners version with an ensuite off the v-berth and a large primary head to port in the saloon. The L-Shaped galley has both a 160L, 12v top opening fridge (new in 2022) along with a large Waeco front load fridge. There is a two-burner gas stove and oven and twin basin stainless steel sink and a large, very comfortable “U” shaped dinette that also converts to a double berth. On deck, the Sun Odyssey 40 is a great configuration for cruising. Her twin wheel set up was ahead of its time and provides clear passage to the transom and, there is plenty of room around her drop leaf cockpit table for entertaining. Black Jack has been exceptionally well maintained and comes with detailed service receipts. She had new Bimini, Dodger and Link sheet fitted in 2021 and new boom bag and wheel covers fitted this year and in 2021 was fitted with an Enerdrive inverter, 2 x 150-watt solar panels with a Victron management system. Being a 380 she featured the sugar scoop with step down transom. The ‘C’ is for cruising so it has a slightly shorter and a sensible 1.7m draft – again the ultimate compromise for a cruiser with great performance. Das Wetterfenster beschert uns leider keine optimalen Wind- und Wellenbedingungen. Die meiste Zeit haben wir Wind, Welle und Strömung gegen uns, so dass wir 2 Tage länger als gedacht unterwegs sind und nach 6 Tagen endlich in die Marina Bartholome Colon in Santo Domingo einlaufen. Nicole, ein dreijähriges Mädchen, erwartet uns bereits zusammen mit ihrer Mutter, Großmutter, einigen Kusinen und Gemeindemitarbeitern in ihrem Dorf. Alle gucken uns neugierig an und wir probieren uns in einigen, wenigen Brocken Spanisch, um uns mit der Familie bekannt zu machen. Für die weitere Konversation sind uns glücklicherweise Dolmetscher zur Seite gestellt. Ein von uns mitgebrachter Kinderrucksack mit Einhornmotiven kommt gut bei Nicole an, noch mehr freuen sich die Kinder allerdings über die im Rucksack versteckten Lolli´s. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich.
