This boat came with a propane stove and oven but the owner wanted something less complicated, more compact and safer. So we're swapping it out for a two burner Origo non-pressurized alcohol stove. It won't have an oven but if the owner wants one he can use the Swedish Omnia stovetop oven pan for baking. The Origo stove is no longer produced but they often come up for sale on ebay. If you see a brand that looks similar called Cookmate, it's an exact copy of the Origo so no reason not to get it. We both sold up and headed out to sea, with the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. We brought our mixed rescue dog along with us as she loves sailing and swimming too! Our boat is a year 2000 J Boats J/46. We searched for 3 years for our perfect sailboat for sale, when we found it, we knew it was the one. We spent 6 months re-fitting it in Rhode Island and then went for our shakedown voyage in Maine. We stopped in Annapolis for a bit to do some more refit work and offshore modifications, then we set off to the open sea. We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our DJI drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. We have sailed over 10,000 bluewater miles to date. We watched other sailing channels before we left as well. We even considered van life, a tiny home, or a motorhome / rv. Some of the channels we enjoyed were Gone with the Wynns, Project Atticus, and MJ Sailing. We didn't really set out to be influencers, but we wanted to return the good karma and pass our inspiration and knowledge along. Heute geht es um die Wartung der Winschen. Unsere Lagoon 40 MariaNoa hat insgesamt 5 Winschen. Achtern zwei Winschen über die der Parasailor gefahren wird. Am Steuerstand sowohl eine mechanische als auch eine elektrische Winsch. Hier ein Kompliment an die Designer des Katamarans. Die beiden Winschen sind so klug angeordnet, dass diverse Kombinationen sowie Umlenkungen möglich sind. Die fünfte Winsch ist die Ankerwinsch. Somit haben wir drei identische selbstholende 2-Gang Winschen von Harken in der Größe 40. Die elektrische Winsch ist nahezu baugleich. Einmal im Jahr müssen diese Winschen gewartet werden. D.h. zerlegt, gereinigt und neu gefettet werden. Da wir jetzt ein Jahr unterwegs sind, sind diese Wartungsarbeiten überfällig. Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Take a tour of the 2005 Lagoon 380 S2 Owners Version "No ka 'Oi" currently offered for sale by The Multihull Company. The Lagoon 380 S2, owner’s version (3 cabins/2 heads) catamaran is a very comfortable, livable and manageable yacht. Things are going well, but there are a few problems. We have noticed a problem with our masthead wind data, which is causing our new B&G H5000 autopilot to steer erratically and even try to crash gybe us. We are investigating, but in the mean time, the conditions were just too good not to fly our two favorite toys, the G3 cruising spinnaker and the DJI Mavic Pro in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Lets go sailing! So who is this crazy sailing couple making fun videos to share? Well, we are Kate and Curtis. We both sold up and headed out to sea, with the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. We brought our mixed rescue dog along with us as she loves sailing and swimming too! Our boat is a year 2000 J Boats J/46. We searched for 3 years for our perfect sailboat for sale, when we found it, we knew it was the one. We spent 6 months re-fitting it in Rhode Island and then went for our shakedown voyage in Maine. We stopped in Annapolis for a bit to do some more refit work and offshore modifications, then we set off to the open sea. We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our DJI drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. We have sailed over 10,000 bluewater miles to date. We watched other sailing channels before we left as well. We even considered van life, a tiny home, or a motorhome / rv. Some of the channels we enjoyed were Gone with the Wynns, Project Atticus, MJ Sailing. Of course also Delos and La Vagabonde. We didn't really set out to be influencers, but we wanted to return the good karma and pass our inspiration and knowledge along. Zurück auf Martinique haben wir deshalb für zwei Tage ein Auto gemietet, um wieder einmal richtig shoppen zu gehen. ▬ Über diesen Film ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Unsere erste Einkaufsrunde führt uns mit dem Dingy zum Leader Price dem örtlichen Discounter von Le Marin. Hier kaufen wir schon einmal alles, was schwer und sperrig ist. Nachdem wir in einem Elektrogroßhandel einen Stand- und einen Handmixer erstanden hatten, ist unser erster Stop ein riesiger Decathlon. Brigitta hat Geburtstagsgeld welches sie hier investieren will und ich brauche nach Jahrzehnten mal wieder eine Badehose und eine Schwimmbrille. Unser Hauptziel ist Leclerce in der Einkaufspassage La Galleria in Lamentin. Hier kann man definitiv nur mit dem Auto hin. Die Auslagerung aller Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Gewerbegebiete auf der grünen Wiese ist, solange man motorisiert ist, praktisch, führt aber zu der Gesichtslosigkeit der Hauptstadt Port de France, die ich bereits beschrieben habe. Nach einer kurzen Fahrt Richtung Norden sind wir wieder mitten im tropischen Regenwald mit seinen faszinierenden großmaßstäblichen Pflanzen. Eine satte Natur, die vom Regen nur so tropft. Hier soll der Cascade de Didier der Wasserfall zu finden sein. De facto treffen wir auf Verbotsschilder, die das Wasserschutzgebiet des Mineralwasserherstellers Didier schützen sollen. Scheinbar kümmert sich niemand um diese Verbote. So gehen auch wir auf die Suche, brechen die Wanderung jedoch ab, als der Trampfelpfad durch einen finsteren Tunnel zu führen scheint. Dafür haben wir uns einen Katamaran gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. Seit vielen Jahren war eine Weltumsegelung mein (Hannes) großer Traum, den ich berufsbedingt zum Renteneintrittsalter verwirklichen wollte. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr dieses Jahrs erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Plan International ist ein internationales Kinderhilfswerk. Auf unserer Reise wollen wir nicht nur in Traumbuchten chillen sondern Programmländer von Plan besuchen und die dortige Arbeit dokumentieren.
