In today's episode of MARINADE: Meat Free Monday Edition we welcome Sunreef Yachts' Sales Department. The team will be making Roasted sweet potato salad with chickpeas and honey mustard sauce. Together with Sunreef Yachts Eco brand ambassador Nico Rosberg, the company is taking part in a wonderful initiative launched by Paul McCartney that encourages people worldwide to reduce meat consumption to help the environment and have a healthier lifestyle. If you feel inspired, prepare this dish yourself at home using the recipe below: Roasted sweet potato salad with chickpeas and honey mustard sauce (4 portions): - 3 mini romaine lettuce - 2 red chicory - 2 sweet potatoes - 1 can of chickpeas - 4 figs - 300 g of cherry tomatoes - 1 bunch of fresh coriander - 80 ml of honey - 80 ml of olive oil - 80 ml of lemon juice - 80 ml of mustard - 1 clove of garlic - Salt, pepper Marinate the sweet potato in olive oil and wrap it in aluminum foil. Bake at 180°C until the potato is soft in the middle. Let it cool down. Peel the potato and cut into cubes. Mix with chickpeas and season with salt and pepper. Use honey, mustard, lemon juice and olive oil to make a honey mustard sauce. Season it with salt and pepper. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and the figs into 6 pieces. Place the lettuce leaves alternately with the chicory. Place the sweet potato with chickpeas, tomatoes and figs on top. Pour the honey mustard dressing over the salad. Sprinkle with coriander. Voilà!

Dafür haben wir uns einen Katamaran gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. Seit vielen Jahren war eine Weltumsegelung mein (Hannes) großer Traum, den ich berufsbedingt zum Renteneintrittsalter verwirklichen wollte. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr dieses Jahrs erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. ** NOW SOLD ** Caroline is a 2001 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. This mid-sized production yacht from one of the very top global brands is a serious all rounder. Caroline is a three double cabin layout with very comfortable living space and a good sized cockpit. There is a practical galley with a deep fridge, dedicated nav station, large saloon seating and additional settee opposite, big owners cabin forward, two double aft cabins and a generous enclosed head and shower (with electric toilet and holding tank). The cockpit is a familiar modern design that simply works; there is an integrated boarding or swim step which leads to the lowerable helm seat which gives easy access to the cockpit. There is a BBQ and out board storage capability on the pushpit. Headsail winches are easily reached by the helm as are all instruments including plotter and auto-pilot which are mounted in the steering pedestal. Cockpit storage is massive and the area is protected by the bimini (with new mounted solar panels) plus the dodger. There are three headsails, a gennaker (with Seldon gennaker pole both 2016) and the mainsail which is easily packed away in the boom bag with lazy jacks. Caroline is powered by a Yanmar 30 shaft drive. There is a 200W solar panel neatly mounted on the bimini (2017). Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. This is the second part of our detailed walk-through of Freelance, our Pearson 36 Cutter (also informally known as a Pearson 367), focusing on our experiences with its below-deck features and cruising comforts. Our cutter is Hull #4. It was built in 1981, and launched on the East Coast in 1982. We bought it 1991 at Barkers Island Marina, Lake Superior, and renamed it Freelance. These vessels earned lasting respect both here and in the US thanks for their winning design and high build quality. Heute haben wir keine leichte Aufgabe zu lösen. Christoph ist knapp 2 Meter groß. Und größere Menschen sind beim Segeln häufig etwas benachteiligt, denn der Großteil der Boote auf dem Markt bietet keine 2 Meter Stehhöhe. Wenn man aber lange Zeit an Bord leben möchte, ist es natürlich schön (und eigentlich auch notwendig) aufrecht stehen zu können. Das Budget von Tatiana und Christoph sind 200.000 € und wir helfen ihnen dabei, dafür das passende Segelboot zu finden. Denn überhaupt erstmal zu den Infos über die Stehhöhe in den interessanten Schiffen zu kommen, das ist manchmal gar nicht so einfach. Viele Verkäufer machen sich selbst auf Nachfrage nämlich gar nicht erst die Arbeit, die Maße zu nehmen. Und nur bei den wenigsten Inseraten findet man die Stehhöhe von vornherein vermerkt. Die Suche war also sehr spannend für uns - eine echte Aufgabe. Schließlich haben wir zwei echt gute Alternativen finden können, eine Jeanneau 47 cc und eine Contest 46. Diese beiden besichtigen und vergleichen wir in diesem Video. Eins der beiden Schiffe hat sogar voll überzeugt und wird gekauft am Ende. Wir hatten Flaute und sind motort, sind mit unserem Parasailor bzw. einer Schmetterlingsbesegelung platt vorm Wind oder auf raumen Kursen gesegelt. Es geht um Segelmanöver, Wacheinteilung, Alltagsbeschäftigung und selbstkritische Lernprozesse. Ergänzt werden die Segelimpressionen durch Rückblicke auf unsere Zeit auf der wunderschönen Insel El Hierro. Dafür haben wir uns einen Katamaran gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. Seit vielen Jahren war eine Weltumsegelung mein (Hannes) großer Traum, den ich berufsbedingt zum Renteneintrittsalter verwirklichen wollte. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr dieses Jahrs erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Silver Heels is a 38ft Double-Ended Sloop designed by William Atkin and built-in Huntington, the USA, as a cruiser. The Alajuela Yacht Corp in the United States made her design. The Alajuela 38 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fibreglass, with wood trim. It has a cutter rig, a spooned raked stem with a teak bowsprit, a canoe transom, a transom-hung rudder controlled by a tiller, and a fixed long keel. We were asked to do a walk-through of Freelance, our Pearson 36 Cutter (also informally known as a Pearson 367), so here it is the first part. It focuses on its above-deck features and our recommendations for how to best sail it. Our cutter is Hull #4. It was built in 1981, and launched on the East Coast in 1982. We bought it 1991 at Barkers Island Marina, Lake Superior, and renamed it Freelance. Since then it has serve us well as our magic carpet, which has safely taken us far and wide on the Great Lakes. We know from our experience it’s a awesome cruising boat.
