Wir haben Besuch. Meine Tochter Carolin ist mit ihrer Freundin Kaja nach Guadeloupe gekommen, um mit uns 10 Tage lang zwischen Pointe-a-Pitre, Le Gosier, Marie Galante und Les Saintes hin und her zu segeln. ▬ Über diesen Film ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Der Besuch beginnt mit einer ordentlichen Verspätung des Flugzeuges aus Paris und dem Verlust des Reisegepäckes. Irgendwann ist es so spät, dass trotz Covid19 keiner uns mehr aufhält ins verwaiste Flughafengebäude vorzudringen. Caro und Kaja sind mit Abstand die letzten, die den Airport verlassen. Anlässlich des Besuches liegt MariaNoa in der Marina Bas-de-Fort und wir haben ein Auto gemietet. So fahren wir am nächsten Vormittag in den Süden von La Basse Terre und besuchen im dortigen Regenwald das Naturschutzgebiet und den Wasserfall Chutes du Carbet. Auf dem Weg fahren wir bei Capesterre belle Eau durch eine faszinierende Palmenallee mit riesigen Palmen. Eigentlich lieben wir die unbefestigten Trampelpfade durch den Regenwald. Hier aber sind die Wege hervorragend präpariert und das Naturschutzgebiet erläutert. So holen wir uns ausnahmsweise keine dreckigen Schuhe und drohen nicht im Matsch auszurutschen. Der Weg zum Wasserfall führt durch eine faszinierende Pflanzenwelt. Alles ist so satt und üppig. Die Pflanzen sowie jedes einzelne Blatt so riesig, dass wir uns dahinter verstecken können. Wir wähnen uns im Dschungel von Yurassic Park und erwarten jeden Moment, dass die Raptoren um die Ecke kommen. Der Chutes du Carbet hat eine gewaltige Fallhöhe. Leider kann man ihn nur aus gewisser Entfernung bewundern. Da wir noch etwas Zeit haben, fahren wir an den Plage de la Caravelle. Er gilt als einer der schönsten Strände von Guadeloupe. Am nächsten Morgen verholen wir nach Le Gosier. Da die kleine vorgelagerte Insel gleich um die Ecke liegt, lohnt es sich nicht, die Segel zu setzen. Außerdem geht es nach Osten also gegenan. Hinter ausgedehnten Flachs ankert man hier zwar nicht windgeschützt, Schwell gibt es aber nahezu keinen. Zeit um die Sicherheitseinweisung nachzuholen. Es geht weiter nach Marie Galante. Die 19 Meilen legen wir mit zunehmender Geschwindigkeit zurück. Bewusst lassen wir in den nächsten Einstellungen die Hintergrundsgeräusche stehen, um euch einen realistischen Eindruck von dem akustischen Stress des Segelns zu geben. Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. @Barefoot Doctors Sailing - With only 16 days till we have to pay for our replacement Leopard 45, our insurance has still not paid us out, despite the claim being "approved" by the assessor 5 months ago. This creates a major problem as the funds have to obtained to honour the contract. The insurance company is claiming complexities of the multiple companies involved and even though we know this should not make any difference to them paying us out, they are not budging... We do have lawyers to represent us and we have been reassured that payout "will be made" but no dates and no amounts.... We also discuss the fire sage and where we are at with that and give you good information for Leopard owners that the fire was not caused by a fault of the boat. At the same time we are tidying up our 10m steel canal boat for sale and continuing to buy all the gear we need for the L45.... We discuss also getting Long Stay French Visas to allow a 12 month stay in the EU, hard drives for data storage on boats and guidance on tool selection and kitchen gear on boats. FIRE SAGA The Barefoot Doctors are still waiting for the conclusion to the fire saga, insurance still not paid out, and confirmation of cause of fire still in the hands of the legal and insurance companies - we wait in anticipation.... This boat came with a propane stove and oven but the owner wanted something less complicated, more compact and safer. So we're swapping it out for a two burner Origo non-pressurized alcohol stove. It won't have an oven but if the owner wants one he can use the Swedish Omnia stovetop oven pan for baking. The Origo stove is no longer produced but they often come up for sale on ebay. If you see a brand that looks similar called Cookmate, it's an exact copy of the Origo so no reason not to get it. We both sold up and headed out to sea, with the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. We brought our mixed rescue dog along with us as she loves sailing and swimming too! Our boat is a year 2000 J Boats J/46. We searched for 3 years for our perfect sailboat for sale, when we found it, we knew it was the one. We spent 6 months re-fitting it in Rhode Island and then went for our shakedown voyage in Maine. We stopped in Annapolis for a bit to do some more refit work and offshore modifications, then we set off to the open sea. We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our DJI drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. We have sailed over 10,000 bluewater miles to date. We watched other sailing channels before we left as well. We even considered van life, a tiny home, or a motorhome / rv. Some of the channels we enjoyed were Gone with the Wynns, Project Atticus, and MJ Sailing. We didn't really set out to be influencers, but we wanted to return the good karma and pass our inspiration and knowledge along. Heute geht es um die Wartung der Winschen. Unsere Lagoon 40 MariaNoa hat insgesamt 5 Winschen. Achtern zwei Winschen über die der Parasailor gefahren wird. Am Steuerstand sowohl eine mechanische als auch eine elektrische Winsch. Hier ein Kompliment an die Designer des Katamarans. Die beiden Winschen sind so klug angeordnet, dass diverse Kombinationen sowie Umlenkungen möglich sind. Die fünfte Winsch ist die Ankerwinsch. Somit haben wir drei identische selbstholende 2-Gang Winschen von Harken in der Größe 40. Die elektrische Winsch ist nahezu baugleich. Einmal im Jahr müssen diese Winschen gewartet werden. D.h. zerlegt, gereinigt und neu gefettet werden. Da wir jetzt ein Jahr unterwegs sind, sind diese Wartungsarbeiten überfällig. Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our DJI drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. We have sailed over 10,000 bluewater miles to date. We watched other sailing channels before we left as well. We even considered van life, a tiny home, or a motorhome / rv. Some of the channels we enjoyed were Gone with the Wynns, Project Atticus, and MJ Sailing. We didn't really set out to be influencers, but we wanted to return the good karma and pass our inspiration and knowledge along. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Plan International ist ein internationales Kinderhilfswerk. Take a tour of the 2005 Lagoon 380 S2 Owners Version "No ka 'Oi" currently offered for sale by The Multihull Company. The Lagoon 380 S2, owner’s version (3 cabins/2 heads) catamaran is a very comfortable, livable and manageable yacht.
